Osteal Therapeutics, Inc. is a clinical-stage company developing a novel pipeline of drug/device combination therapies for the treatment of musculoskeletal infections and their consequences. Our lead investigational candidate, VT-X7 was granted Orphan Drug, FastTrack and Qualified Infectious Disease Product designations by the FDA and is currently in Phase 2 comparative trials for the treatment of Periprosthetic Joint Infection (PJI). With a robust pipeline of additional indications and therapeutic candidates, we anticipate rapid and sustained growth.

Position Summary:

The Project Manager (PM) is a key member of Osteal project teams and has the ultimate responsibility to ensure that projects are conducted within scope, on time and on budget. This includes managing internal resources as well as outside service providers. The PM will initially focus on R&D projects but will ultimately help with projects in all functional areas such as Quality, Regulatory and Marketing. The PM is a critical team member, reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer.

Essential Responsibilities:

Essential functions of the position Include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure that projects are conducted within scope, on time and on budget

  • Lead multi-disciplinary project meetings

  • Design and apply project management techniques

  • Create and maintain the overall project plan

  • Identify risks to successful project completion

  • Manage changes to project scope, as needed

  • Provide updates to the project team and Osteal management on project progress.

  • Interact with Osteal service providers to ensure on time completion of deliverables.

  • Contribute to the development of new projects.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum B.S. degree

  • Minimum 5 years experience in project management, including product development projects

  • Demonstrated success initiating and completing successful multidisciplinary projects

  • Work in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical device industry is preferred, but not required

  • PMP certification is preferred, but not required

  • Effective working independently with minimal direction and within project teams

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with a variety of personnel

  • Hands-on, driven work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit

Computer Software / Programs:

  • MS Project proficiency

  • MS Office

  • Familiarity with other project management tools

  • Willing and able to travel as needed (typically 10-20%)
