VT-X7 for Chronic Bacterial PJI
Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is the most common cause of failed joint replacements. PJIs are rare, with a risk of 1-3% over the life of a prosthesis, yet they affect over 40,000 patients per year in the U.S. alone. These infections are difficult to treat and can have devastating consequences for the 50% of patients who fail treatment under the current standard of care. VT-X7 has the potential to facilitate rapid, reliable resolution of infection.
