Notice on Fraudulent Job Offers
Recruitment fraud is a sophisticated scam that targets unsuspecting job seekers by offering fake employment opportunities, oftentimes to induce the unsuspecting job seeker to reveal sensitive personal information and/or pay. We have become aware of such a scam involving fraudulent job offers falsely claiming to be from Osteal Therapeutics. These fraudulent offers are being sent by individual(s) or organization(s) impersonating Osteal Therapeutics’ recruiters or representatives. As part of the scam, these fraudulent communications often request personal information or payment as part of the recruitment process or job offer.
Please be advised that Osteal Therapeutics never asks any job seeker or prospective employee to provide personal banking information or payment of any kind during the recruiting process or as a condition of employment. If you receive any such communication that claims to be in any way related to Osteal Therapeutics, it is both unauthorized and fraudulent.
Ways to Recognize Recruitment Fraud:
-
Job opportunities with Osteal Therapeutics are typically listed on our website or other approved job boards (i.e., LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.). Any requests to apply for a job through other channels or unfamiliar job search platforms is likely to be fraudulent.
-
Osteal Therapeutics uses only one domain (ostealtx.com) for its official communications. Any communication from an email address that claims to be sent from Osteal or on Osteal’s behalf but does not use this exact domain should be considered fraudulent.
-
Osteal Therapeutics does not conduct interviews or extend job offers through text-based methods or chat platforms. Any communication regarding employment that occurs through these channels is likely to be fraudulent.
-
Osteal Therapeutics adheres to a professional and organized hiring process and does not send unsolicited employment offers. Official job offers are extended only after thorough candidate evaluation and typically only after the candidate has been interviewed by an actual Osteal employee. An offer lacking a formal interview process is likely to be fraudulent.
For more information on detecting fraudulent recruiting activity, resources are available on the Federal Trade Commission website.
If you have been defrauded or suspect identity theft due to an employment fraud, please contact your local law enforcement agency for assistance.
