David began working with Osteal Therapeutics in January 2022 and joined our team as General Counsel in August 2024. David has practiced law for over 30 years (including exclusively in the med-tech industry for over 25 years) and has materially contributed to the successes of a multitude of early-stage ventures and publicly traded companies.

Immediately before joining Osteal Therapeutics, David supported dozens of privately held med-tech companies as a legal consultant, with concentrations in the areas of patent and competitive strategy and corporate/M&A diligence. Earlier in his career, David led the patent and legal affairs of Intuitive Surgical during its early growth and served as General Counsel to Kyphon (acquired by Medtronic).

David holds a JD from Duke University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
